Italian Vases

Designer vases At Italiving, whether they are glass vases or tall ceramic floor vases, or whether you use them indoors or outdoors, they are all made by hand. Depending on the material used, they are made in specialized craft workshops.

Our glass vases mostly come from Italy, some from artists' workshops in Poland and some from Asia. The porcelain vases and most ceramic vases come from China, because China is still the leader in the production of porcelain and ceramics.

Glass vases with unusual shapes or those with elaborate glass crystals in particular require the highest level of craftsmanship. And even a spherical vase that seems so simple has to be perfectly round. If the designer creates large glass vases, it is a special challenge for the glassblower, because the larger the surface, the more concentrated he has to work to avoid errors in the glass.

Glass vases with bright, clear colors do not necessarily have to be vases made of Murano glass. Our colorful vases prove this perfectly.

All ceramic vases and planters from Italiving are also manufactured exclusively in small, selected craft businesses and that's why all of our vases are for balconies, terraces or gardens guaranteed frost-proof burned. Porcelain and ceramics are among the oldest materials in history. Unique and individual vases are only made by hand. Each one is a little different from the other because that is the nature of handcraft. Each vase is unique and therefore particularly valuable. Italiving stands for craftsmanship instead of mass-produced goods.

Ceramics are ideal for making unusual decorative vases. The basic material clay is very easy to work with and you can use it to create many vase shapes. After the clay has been fired for the first time, there are hardly any limits to the artistic imagination for surface design. A clay vase or clay pot can be transformed into wonderful, unusual flower vases and planters using bright colors and processed surfaces.

For example, take a look at our strawberry vases or the lemon vases. They are the best proof of Italian designer vases. The strawberry vases are impressive with their detailed workmanship and the natural finish of the vase surface, while the lemon vases and also the lime vases reflect the highest level of craftsmanship. Each fruit is made and fired individually, then connected to the vase and then the whole vase is painted and fired several times.

If you use metal for a flower pot, then making the shape is easy and only processing the surface turns a simple flower pot into a piece of jewelry. This can be done either by treating the surface itself or by painting the entire surface or parts of it. If you combine both in a metal vase, completely surprising effects suddenly arise.

It is certainly allowed to create counterpoints to the furnishings or highlights, but they should still fit the style and not seem like a foreign object. The same applies to the combination of vase and plant. For example, it is legitimate to choose an unusual Italian vase, but you must not put it in competition with the flowers or plants presented in it. Either the plant underlines the design of the vase or planter or vice versa. Then the viewer unconsciously perceives the composition as successful. You should adhere to the following color rules when decorating the vases.

Do not combine more than three different colors together. If you are unsure which colors go together, take a color wheel, also known as a color wheel, to hand. Here you can recognize certain color combinations that particularly harmonize with each other.

1. Complementary colors: Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel work great together, such as purple with yellow, or green with red.

2. Contrasting colors: These colors are exactly three colors apart on the color wheel, such as red, yellow and blue. When you combine colors like this, the color blocking trend becomes child's play.
