Almost all of us look forward to being able to decorate our home festively and let our creativity run wild. The run-up to Christmas already offers many opportunities to make your own four walls autumnal and cozy.

Most of us mourn summer as soon as the temperatures and the first leaves fall. It's just so nice to sit outside until late at night, enjoying the warm air and enjoying dinner al fresco.

But a golden autumn also has its beautiful sides, because at times it almost extends into November. We are also feeling the effects of climate change, which in this case is more of a source of joy than frustration.

Now it’s time to start redesigning your home’s decor. This doesn’t mean that color goes out and boredom sets in! No - rather, you can now put the warm colors in the foreground and use decorative elements that create comfort, warmth and a fireplace atmosphere.

Decorating windows for fall decorations is an option. Autumn motifs or items that create an autumn mood are ideal for this. Take beautiful lanterns, painted candle jars or place an Italian designer vase with a lush poinsettia in the window.

The mantel (if you have one) can be decorated with a garland of realistically reproduced fir branches and cones, into which you can weave ribbons and attach tassels and decorative balls to them. This doesn't look Christmassy, ​​but rather gives the room an American touch from Ralph Lauren. The same applies to wreaths made of lifelike fir branches, which can be easily hung on doors or frame a large scented candle on the living room table.

The art lies in finding the right balance for the transition from summer to the use of Christmas decorations.

A good style element for this is to include flowers or plants in your rooms.

Flowering plants such as orchids and poinsettias are just as suitable for this as are all types of autumn bouquets, which in a colorful flower vase have a different effect than a summer bouquet.

In the days before the first Advent, the picture changes anyway and, as we feel like real Italians, we give our all when it comes to Christmas spirit. In fact, the decoration in Italy is almost as lavish and lavish as in the USA, especially in New York.

Set up tea lights in autumnal candle jars or Christmas candles with nutcracker motifs. There are also “Christmas tree candles” – candles in the shape of Christmas trees, from which you can even create a small forest, which then achieves a really impressive effect when you light all the candles.

Creativity is also required when decorating the Christmas tree. You can usually get balls very cheaply, but 20 of them on the tree are boring. Complete them with individual balls with character and a special design. There are Christmas tree baubles with nutcracker faces, in the shape of Christmas angels, with feathers, for which you don't have to invest a lot because just a few of them turn the whole tree into something completely extraordinary.
